You will find our craft brewery on the south side of the Market Place, just across the castle, in the Old City Hall of the city of Darmstadt. The Old City Hall (das Rathaus) was built in 1598 after the plans by Jakob Wustmann. Since 1989 the Old City Hall accommodates on the ground floor, the cellar and the 1st upper floor the only Craft Brewery of Darmstadt.

We serve you excellently crafted and traditionally – of course after the purity requirement – brewed beer and typical German dishes.

Do you have a handicap? No problem, we have a handicapped accessible entrance as well as barrier-free toilets.

Our beergarden with a stunning view at the castle invites you to a pleasant stay during the summertime

Enjoy the view and enjoy your stay! In other respects, our house meets all of your wishes. Pay a visit to our Braustube with the big bar area on the ground floor. Come to our restaurant Regentenstube on the 1st upper floor or our romantic brewing cellar (smoking area) located in the historical vault cellar.

Very good service, always fast and uncomplicated. Food and drinks were not long in coming. It wasn't too loud inside and you could have a good chat. Very good value for money.

Pleasantly surprised ...
We hadn't been to the Ratskeller for a long time, so we were all the more pleasantly surprised. Reservation, adjusted number of participants, everything went smoothly by email and telephone.
Our group was then served very well in the Regentenstube in a beautiful ambience. The choice of dishes and above all the quality was very good.
We will definitely be back.

We were with 18 people in the Regentenstube (upper floor). A very nice location. The food was very tasty and the service was very nice and attentive most of the time. We liked the salad bar. We can definitely recommend this place. We will definitely be back again.

We went to eat at the Ratskeller before an event at the Darmstadium.
I had the cooked cheese schnitzel with homemade fried potatoes.
It was a delight, no pre-made schnitzel that is heated in the deep fryer but really freshly made schnitzel, with a wonderful golden-yellow breading, the fried potatoes were also a dream, crispy, baked in butter (or clarified butter) with a little bacon and onions.
And the service was excellent. The ambience was great too.
Many thanks for the great experience. If we are ever in Darmstadt again, we know where to go.
